Millennium-films to premiere on BBC

November 2021

The Swedish film adaptations of Stieg Larsson’s ‘Millennium’-trilogy, which Jacob Groth composed the score to, is premiering on British television.

The three films has been cut up into a six-part tv series and will air every Saturday on BBC4. It’s the first time the original Swedish films will air in the UK. Read more here.

The Boys from St. Petri - 30 year-anniversary

October 2021

Today, October 11th 2021, marks the 30 year-anniversary of the release of The Boys from St. Petri. It is one of the many film projects Jacob has worked on with his friend, director Søren Kragh-Jacobsen. The film won a Bodil award and several Robert-awards in Denmark, and had its US premiere the following year (1992) at the Chicago International Film Festival.

Wisting Season 2

September 2021

Jacob is currently busy writing new music and placing score on the new episodes in the upcoming season 2 of the Norwegian hit drama ‘Wisting’.

Praised by The Guardian as “the best Nord-noir ever” and by The Wall Street Journal as “seamlessly woven” and “superbly layered”, season one of ‘Wisting’ smashed Viaplay viewing records and is one of NENT Group’s most successful original series so far.  Read more here.

September 2021

Jacob received Æresprisen (Honorary Award) from the Music Publishers Association at this years Carl Prisen in August. Below, you can watch the video presentation shown before Jacob went on stage.

The 3rd and 4th September, Jacob Groth will be playing concerts in Sweden with The Hjärtestarters: Jacob Groth, Ole Bo, Henrik Kjelin and Pär Renevall.

Jacob wins Æresprisen at Carl Prisen 2021

On Monday, August 23rd, Jacob Groth was awarded with the prestigeous Æresprisen (Honorary Award) at this years Carl Prisen!

He receives the award for his outstanding work as a film composer throughout the past many years, scoring legendary Danish TV dramas such as Taxi, Krøniken and Rejseholdet and breaking through internationally composing the score to the film adaptations of Stieg Larsson’s Millennium-trilogy as well his work in the US on Midnight, Texas and Unforgettable, among many other remarkable achievements through his career.

Carl Prisen is hosted by Music Publishers Association in Denmark.

Congratulations to Karen-Lise Mynster, the female lead of ‘Oh, To Be Butterfly’, with her nomination for Bodil Award 2021! She is nominated in the category ‘Best Female Supporting Role’. See all of the nominees here.

Jacob Groth wrote the score to the film, as well as co-writing the original songs used in the film.
