September 2025 marks a milestone in Danish TV history. For the first time, composer Jacob Groth will release his original scores from four of DR’s most beloved drama series – Unit One (Rejseholdet), The Guardians (Livvagterne), Taxa and Krøniken digitally.
Groth’s music has defined the golden era of DR Drama, shaping the Nordic Noir sound and adding emotional depth to Sunday night television for decades. Now, these unforgettable themes return – celebrating his 45 years as a film composer.
The music will be released as four EPs throughout September – one every Friday:
- September 5 – Unit One: The Emmy-winning score returns, coinciding with the new feature film Unit One – The First Murder starring Alex Høgh and Nikolaj Kopernikus
- September 12 – The Guardians: Dark, suspense-driven themes from DR’s landmark political thriller
- September 19 – Taxa: Blues-inspired guitar motifs capturing Copenhagen’s urban pulse
- September 26 – Krøniken: An epic, emotional suite of strings and piano reflecting love, class struggle in postwar Denmark
The scores will be available on all digital platforms and DRTV, inviting both longtime fans and new listeners to rediscover the soundtracks that shaped a generation.
